Saving a chat or instant meeting transcript to Mail
During a chat or instant meeting, you can saving the meeting transcript to Mail. You can then open the transcript from Mail.

Note: The features described in this topic are available only if your company has an IBM Lotus Sametime server. The Macintosh version of Lotus Notes does not support some instant messaging features, for example, instant meetings and multiple-person chats.

You can save a chat or instant meeting transcript to the Chat History view in your mail application.

To save a transcript to Mail, follow these steps:

1. In the chat or meeting window, click Meeting > Save to Database.

2. To see the transcript in your mail, click Views > Chat History in the navigator, and open the document showing the name of the person you were chatting with and the date and time you saved the transcript.


You can also set a user preference to always save transcripts or be prompted to save them. Click File > Preferences > User Preferences and then click the plus sign next to Instant Messaging and then click Options.

Note: When you open a transcript in your mail, a timestamp is displayed for each chat entry. Deselecting the Add timestamp to message preference affects only messages or meeting invitations that you receive -- saved transcripts always have timestamps.
