To change design properties
If you have Manager or Designer access to an IBMR Lotus NotesR application, you can set or change design properties.

1. From a NotesR application, click File > Application > Properties.

2. Click the Design tab.

3. Select or deselect one or more of the following design properties:

Design properties
FieldDescription
Allow design lockingSelect so that designers can lock and unlock any of the design elements in an application.
List in Database CatalogSelect to make the application appear in the Application Catalog (previously database catalog).
CategoriesIf you selected List in Database Catalog, enter the name of the category for the application.
Show in 'Open Database' dialogSelect to display the application in the list when users choose File > Open > Lotus Notes Application.
Include in multi-database indexingSelect to include the application in the Domain Index (for Search Site and Domain Search).
Do not mark modified documents as unreadSelect if the unread status of modified documents is unimportant or if the application is on a server that users do not access directly.

Note: If enabled, users see only new documents (not modified documents) as unread, which conserves disk processing time. This setting affects all views in the application.

Mark parent note on reply or forwardSelect to use icon indicators in the Inbox, All Documents, and Follow Up views that indicate when you have forwarded or replied to messages. The icons appear next to the original message in the "Replied to/Forwarded" column.
Inherit design from master templateSelect if an application is governed by a design template, and then enter the template name in the field provided. Note, however, that any changes you make are written over by the master design when all applications are synchronized with the template.

Deselect to prevent the entire application from being governed by the design template.

Refresh design on admin server onlySelect this option if you want design refreshes to occur only on the administration server for the application.
Database file is a master templateSelect if the application is used as a template, and then enter the template name in the field provided.
List as advanced template in 'New Database' dialogSelect to hide the template unless Show advanced templates is selected in the New Application dialog box.
Copy profile documents with designSelect to propagate to applications created from the template any profile documents within the template.
Single copy templateSelect so that applications that inherit from this template include pointers or reference notes to this template's design elements, rather than including copies of the design elements themselves.
Multilingual databaseIf the application was designed for multiple languages, select to change the language (continent and country) that you want the application to use, and then specify the defaults in the fields provided.

For more information on single copy templates or multilingual databases, go to LotusR Documentation on the Web to download or view Lotus DominoR Designer Help.
