To specify multilingual Internet mail formatting
You can choose whether mail sends multilingual mail messages in Unicode, Best Match, or if it prompts you each time to ask which format.

1. Click File > Preferences > User Preferences.

2. Click Mail > Internet.

3. Under Multilingual Internet mail format, click one of the available options.


Multilingual mail format options
OptionDescription
Use Unicode (UTF-8)Unicode is the preferred method of sending messages in foreign languages.
Use Best MatchUse this option if you don't think that the recipient of your mail has a mail program capable of reading Unicode fonts.
Use Unicode and promptThis option causes IBMR LotusR NotesR to prompt you when you send a mail message. The prompt allows you to change how you send the message--from Unicode to Best Match.
Use Match and promptThis option causes Notes to prompt you when you send a mail message. The prompt allows you to change how you send the message--from Best Match to Unicode.

4. Click OK.
