You control some IBMR Lotus NotesR preferences with the User Preferences dialog box, and others from preferences within your mail application. With User Preferences you can do the following things.

• Change your contacts file or add a contacts file
• Use a word processor as the editor for mail messages.
• Change how you save your sent mail.
• Encrypt all messages that you send or save for security
• Add a digital signature to all messages you send for security
• Turn off the "Fw" prefix on forwarded messages
• Change how often to check for new mail and how new mail is announced
