ELEMENTS OF LOTUS NOTES

Saving the window state
You can set a user preference to save the state of the window tabs on exiting IBM Lotus Notes, so that you will see the same open window tabs the next time you start Lotus Notes.

If you want to see the same window tabs every time you use Lotus Notes, click File > Save Window State to permanently save a window state.

In either case, Lotus Notes saves the open windows as bookmarks in the LastState folder within More Bookmarks. If you have already dragged bookmarks to the Startup folder, the contents of the Startup folder takes precedence over the LastState folder when Lotus Notes starts.

Note: The Save Window State command saves open window tabs in the current Lotus Notes instance only -- it does not save them in other Lotus Notes instances started with the Open in New Window command.

To save the window state on each Lotus Notes exit

Use this procedure if you want to resume where you left off each time you exit Lotus Notes.

1. Click File > Preferences > User Preferences.

2. Under Startup and shut down, click Save window state on exit.

To save a window state for an extended period of time

Use this procedure if you like to use the same set of window tabs each time you use Lotus Notes.

1. Open all the window tabs that you want to save.

2. Click File > Save Window State.

Note: To save a different set of window tabs, repeat the above steps. To return to a clean window state, click File > Clear Saved Window State.
