Creating Notes documents
The way in which you create a document differs depending on the application. However, from anywhere in IBMR Lotus NotesR, can also use the File > New menu to create messages, calendar entries and more.

You can create a document in an application if you have Author access, Depositor access, or higher.


Document creation tasks

Create a new documentUse any of the following ways to create a new document:
    • From the menu, click File > New and then select the document type.
    • From the toolbar menu, click New, and then select the document type.
    • Click a toolbar button, if available.
Save a document and keep it openClick File > Save, or press Ctrl+S (Macintosh users, COMMAND+S).
Save and close a documentClick File > Close, or Press ESC.
Temporarily save a document to a local applicationClick File > AutoSave > AutoSave Now.

Note: The application must include the Autosave feature.


Note: NotesR documents are different from the word processing documents created using IBM LotusR Symphony. If you installed Lotus Symphony on your system, see the Lotus Symphony section of Help for information on creating and formatting word processing documents.
