Adding a background to a document
You can add background color to a document and, if the design allows it, copy and paste graphics in a document's background. You can also import graphics from a file.

1. Put the document in edit mode.

2. Click Text > Text Properties.

3. In the properties box, click the arrow next to Text and select Document.

4. Click the Background tab.


Ways to add and customize backgrounds
Task Steps
Add background colorSelect a color from the list in the Color field.
Customize colorsClick the color wheel button in the top right corner of the Background Color box.
Copy and paste a graphic to the background1. Select the graphic to copy, and then click Edit > Copy.

2. Click Paste in the Graphic or Resource section.

3. For smaller graphics, select a style from the Repeats field.

Import a graphic to the background

Note: You can import BMP, GIF, JPEG, PCX Image, and TIFF 5.0 Bitmap files.

1. Click Import in the Graphic or Resource section.

2. Select the file to import.

3. Click Import.

4. For smaller graphics, select a style from the Repeats field.

Add an image resource graphic (a reusable graphic in an application)

Note: This option is available only if the designer put images in your image resource library

Enter the name of the graphic in the text field in the Graphic or Resource section, or use the folder button to select a graphic.
Remove a graphic from the backgroundClick Remove in the Graphic or Resource section.
Hide a graphic while your document is in edit modeSelect Hide graphic in edit mode in the Options section.
Reset a form (document) to its original colorClick the Reset to form color button.
