Encrypting mail
When you encrypt IBMR Lotus NotesR mail messages, NotesR scrambles the information so that only specified recipients can read the messages.

To encrypt a message

In a message you created, click Encrypt above the To field of the message. If the Encrypt option doesn't display, click Display > Additional Mail Options.

To encrypt all messages that you send or save

1. Click File > Preferences > User Preferences.

2. Click Mail.

3. Do either of the following:

To encrypt all messages that you send, select Encrypt messages that I send.
To encrypt all messages that you send and save, select Encrypt saved copies of sent messages. Notes encrypts all messages in your Sent and Drafts views.

4. Click OK.

If you're working offline, you can encrypt the mail you send and receive if your organization provides a mobile directory catalog. For information, see Using server-based mail features while working offline.
To encrypt Internet mail, you need a certificate.
