BROWSING THE WEB FROM NOTES

Tracking Web pages with Page Minder
If you connect directly to the Internet and use "Notes with Internet Explorer" as your browser, IBM Lotus Notes can monitor Web pages at certain intervals (every hour, for example) and mail you either a summary of what's been updated or the actual page with the updates. Notes monitors pages using the Page Minder feature.

To enable Page Minder

Page Minder is an agent that runs on your computer. Before you can enable it, you must click File > Preferences > User Preferences, click the Basics tab, and under Startup options check the Enable scheduled local agents check box. Then follow these steps:

1. Open any Web page.

2. From the menu, click Actions > Internet Options.

3. Click the Page Minder tab.

4. Select how often to search for updates.

5. Select whether to receive an e-mail summary or the actual page when updates are found.

6. Enter the names of people who will receive the message.

7. Click Enable Page Minder.

8. Click Save and Close.

Tip: To disable Page Minder, repeat Steps 1 -- 3 and 7 -- 8, clicking "Disable Page Minder" in Step 7.
