BROWSING THE WEB FROM NOTES

Changing Web browsers
When you enter a URL in the Address box in the toolbar, click a IBM Lotus Notes bookmark linked to a Web site, or click a "hotspot" URL in a Notes document, Notes displays the linked Web page in its own browser window or opens another browser application to display the page.

You can choose which Web browser to use with Notes. The "Notes with Internet Explorer" browser lets you view Web pages without leaving Notes. You can also have Notes launch another browser application (such as Microsoft Internet Explorer or Firefox) when you want to open a Web page from within Notes.

To change browsers

1. From the menu, click File > Preferences > Location Preferences.

2. Click the Internet Browser tab.

3. Select a browser in the Internet Browser field.

4. If you selected Other (Mozilla, etc.) in Step 3, click the flashlight icon to specify the path to the browser program you want to use.

5. Click Save and Close.

Tip: To get Internet Explorer Help when using "Notes with Internet Explorer," open a Web page and select Actions > Internet properties.
